Stalls on bootup
Some boots it stalls for anywhere from 10 to 25 minutes. Other times, it stops for about 2 seconds, and then continues. I've yet to find any pattern. It then completes the boot up. Look for a missing device when you get into windows or watch the bootup for a clue to the device. Missing SCSI device will do this for example. If I choose NT it stalls after OS LOADER 4.01.., if I choose Win 98 it stalls after the splash screen, I get a blinking cursor and the HD light stays on but no HD activity. Only after three resets (always three) does it sucessfully boot up and it runs great. I don't think it is a Dual boot issue since the problem

... the machine will start to boot, but stalls at the very first screen. In other words, the screen says press f2 or f12 for various functions. If I put the recovery CD into the drive and restart, the machine will boot FROM THE HARD drive. But it WILL NOT boot up without the recovery CD being in the drive.
